2023 August 1-3 Collage Retreat with Laura Heine at Dan Walt Gardens- Deposit and Registration
Join Laura in a fun filled retreat at the beautiful Dan Walt Gardens in Billings Montana. Let the flowers in this beautiful setting add inspiration to your collage quilts!
August 1-3, 2023
A Laura Heine collage kit and pattern is required for this retreat. You can purchase these on our web site or stop by this shop when you get to town! If there is one you cannot live without, get it while it is still available! Spend two full days creating your collage with Laura by your side!! Learn her techniques and tips! Please leave the kit intact and do not prefuse your fabric. Learn about color and value and not even realize you are learning it! Work with different scales of fabric and turn them into a one-of-a-kind quilt!
Hotel: A variety of room options are available and a block of rooms set aside at special rates are available. Be sure to ask for the special room rates for "Fiberworks". Contact Hilton Garden Inn at 406-655-8800 2465 Grant Road Billings, MT to make your room reservations.
Total retreat fee $750.00 with a $200.00 non-refundable and non-transferable deposit due upon registration. Balance will be due no later then June 30th and is non-refundable and non-transferable. Payment in full must be made by June 30, 2023 or your spot will be rendered open.
August 1st- Plan to arrive at Fiberworks, 3213 Henesta Drive, for appetizers and wine at 5:00 pm followed by Laura's show and tell at 5:00. Come a bit early if you want to shop or need additional supplies for class.
August 2nd- 9:00-4 Class will be at the Dan Walt Gardens located at 720 Washington Street in Billings. We will begin making your collage quilts! Lunch, dinner and a cash bar will be provided. You can stay and work on your collages through the evening.
August 3rd - 9:00-4 Class will be at the Dan Walt Gardens. Lunch will be served and Continue with your collage quilts. Plan to be finished by 4pm.
**Note: If you have food allergies we will do our best to accommodate you with our caterers. We cannot guarantee with certain menu items so please be prepared to bring your own food or order in from a few companies here in town that are allergy specific.
Transportation and Hotel: The Hilton Garden Inn will provide special rates under "Fiberworks". They have a shuttle to and from the airport. You must make reservations with them if you wish to use their transportation. We cannot guarantee their shuttle to and from class and Fiberworks. Billings has Uber if you want to use that service or renting a car is an option. Hotel and transportation is the responsibility of the student.
You will not need to bring a sewing machine, just the additional supplies (i.e. pattern ease and Steam a Seam 2) on the back of the pattern you choose. Irons, ironing boards, cutting mat and rotary cutters will be available for your use. The first evening is a great time to buy any additional supplies that you may need for the class.

We will send a notice to the email address you have provided on your order form when the final payment is due (around 60 days prior to the event). There will be no refunds on deposits so be sure you want to come.
